The undercarriage is very well protected from the elements with a generous application of undercoating. I am not sure of the brand used, but it has been applied to a variety of area, including the trunk, hood and doors. All of the nooks and crannys that could trap water have been treated with this tar-like substance.
The only upgrade to the car during my ownership is the installation of Bilstein Heavy Duty shocks in the rear. The front shock inserts need replacement, but I just haven't had time to get to that chore yet, maybe later. Another upgrade on my list of things to do is the braking system. The brakes on the cab seem adequate, but the front pads will squeel when warm and there is a slight pull when braking vigorously. Maybe a stuck piston. I have the parts, just need more time. |
